The Wedding Invite

Here's the sneak peak to our wedding invite. H2B has finally finished the lay-out & design. I'm currently printing them and will have to put them in a border paper and then cut another paper into an envelope shape then make an envelope out of it and stick the main invite with border in the envelope to make this invite. Whew! I know it's going to take too much effort and energy but wedding preps is actually giving a different high so I know that I can finish our DIY invites! :)

How To Go

Here's the Map & Directions that my hubby created. I'm sure this will come in handy when you travel to the venue of our wedding ceremony and reception.

Ceremony: Chapel on the Hill, Don Bosco, Nasugbu, Batangas
Reception: Hotel Kimberly, Amadeo Road, Tagaytay City

P.S. I'm so proud of you Ren for being artistic enough to make this! :)

What To Wear

Our wedding is going to be a formal gathering so we're requesting everyone to wear formal attire. But since we're having a Rock n Roll themed wedding reception, we encourage everyone to wear your clothes with a rockstar attitude. You can come with your shades on, eyeliner/guy-liner on, out-of-bed hair, or just come thinking to yourself, "I'm a rockstar!" and that'll do the trick. :)

For more inspiration, we've put together some visuals below.

Guys: Wear a suit! If suit is such a hassle, please wear your long-sleeves dress shirt.
No Barong Tagalog, please. Thanks.

Girls: Wear your long, sexy gown! If gown is such a hassle, please wear a cocktail dress.
Please don't dress down. This is your chance to play dress-up! :)

To convince you even more to dress up on this occassion, we're actually going to award a Best Dressed (Male and Female) during the reception. If that's not a good enough reason for you to dress up, we don't know what else. So please, we beg you, don't let us be the only two people dressed to the nines! Join us and let's all be fabulous rockstars on this day. :)

Where To Go

If you’re planning to go ahead or behind the wedding party to stay a day or two and explore Tagaytay City, here are some places that you might want to check-out.

Tagaytay Picnic Groove – the most popular playground in Tagaytay. Here you can find picnic huts, souvenir shops and for the adventurous, the ziplines and cable cars overlooking the picturesque Taal volcano.

People’s Park in the Sky – This is the highest point in Tagaytay City and it stands on a 4,516 sq, meters solid ground and overlooks four bodies of water – Taal Lake, Balayan Bay, Laguna de Bay and Manila Bay. Affordable souvenir items can also be brought from here.

Residence Inn Mini-Zoo – Residence Inn is a famous hotel in Tagaytay but with its steep room rates you can probably just take the kids for a trip at their mini-zoo. Entrance costs P200 and I bet the kids will enjoy seeing the wild and not-so wild animals there.

Paradizoo – Similarly to Residence Inn Mini-zoo, this place houses zoo animals and you can even pet a snake here. They also have a wide-array of flora from the beautiful flowers, herbs and spices, vegetable and a lot more.

Here’s something very helpful that I found online. Please do check http://www.squidoo.com/tagaytay to have a more enjoyable Tagaytay experience.

Gift Registry

Your presence on our wedding day is a gift itself! We carefully invited only a few close friends and relatives that we want to share this important day of our lives so we're really hoping that you accept our invitation and we'll treat this as the best gift ever!

However, we realize that it's almost customary that guests bring gifts to the celebrants - us. So to ease your burden of thinking of what gift will serve us more purpose, here's what we recommend...

Enveloped gift.

We will start our married lives together in Canada and as we embark on this journey, we need the sole resource that we think can be translated into so many necessary stuff.
We also realize that since we're having a destination wedding, monetary gift is the most convenient gift for you to bring.

We're not having a "fund-raising" wedding so please don't feel that you need to give us money as gifts or you need to give a specific amount that would qualify as a "wedding gift". No. We would greatly appreciate any amount! And even if you're not going to give us a gift at all, that's perfectly fine. What we're really asking for, is for you, our invited guests to show-up on our wedding day! See you! :)

looking back on our civil wedding

Ok, that's not the most creative title but our civil wedding was the opposite of that. Our civil wedding was full of DIY and artsy fartsy stuff fresh from our creative juices both hubby and myself. :) So, here goes...

probably the most inexpensive wedding attire of a bride and a groom
my sandals will be my something old come our church wedding :)

DIY after-party outfit :)
dream come true for both of us! we can't just settle :)
our titanium rings. according to Tiffany's, it's indestructible.  let's see. :)
DIY candy buffet that the young and old enjoyed! :)
even my HMU is DIY by yours truly :)
and because we don't have a pro photographer, this is the most decent picture we got  :p
this we can't just DIY... that's c/o Gene Testa
Yup, we got a tattoo right after our honeymoon in celebration of our 1st weeksary during the time. Haha! :)

She+Him free-nup winners! :)

Wedding planning is more exciting because of the kind-hearted and generous wedding suppliers like She+Him Photography! They are celebrating their first anniversary  as a couple so they are giving back to the bride-to-be's and groom-to-be's by giving FREE Pre-nup sesh to 10 couples! Guess what, we won!!!

It's the first time we won anything in the history of raffles and I think the universe felt our desperation so we beat the buzz and won the last slot! Thanks, universe! Thank you, God! Thanks to She+Him for this contest! :)

Next on the agenda, the theme. Since we're having a rock n roll theme in our wedding, we thought, we'll be rockstars in the free-nup sesh. Kinda like below:
Anywhere you know that have pavements like these?
This is perfect but I'll wear a tank top and not show too much skin.
Intimate but rock n roll

Ren and I dreams of becoming rockstars. The laid-back yet effortlessly cool, bordering or sometimes downright breaking rules kind of lifestyle but they get away with it. It's a fascination we both have that not all our friends understand. That's why, when we go to rock concerts/events, it's always just the two of us.

I think it's going to be a 4-hour session and if we still have time, I'd convince Ren that we do a vintage indie theme. I'm an Audrey Hepburn fan and would love to dress up like her at least once in my life. What better opportunity to do that than our pre-nup sesh, right? Any of the below pegs will be a dream and I wouldn't complain to that.

I'm just so excited on what the outcome will be like! My friend Sab and my fashion designer friend, Rei agreed to style us for the shoot for FREE. I just can't wait!!!

95 days to go

It's been a long while since my last post and it's also been a while since I really took the time to prepare for our church wedding. A lot has happened during that period of time; case in point, my new surname!

Ren and I have been married civilly last September 2012. It was one of those spur-of-the-moment decisions. We didn't really plan on being married by the town mayor but during the course of waiting for May 5, 2012, we got really excited and said "let's just get over it!" Well actually, I would still consider it a well-thought decision no matter how quick we jumped into it. The goal really is for us to be together so we got married civilly so we can process my visa application much earlier than what was planned. And dude, we badly miss each other!

Fast-forward to now, I just-pressed the panic button a couple of weeks ago because it's only a matter of days until our actual wedding!!! And since then, I met suppliers here and there because I need to book them quickly but intelligently. So far, I think that all our decision are great... we really found the balance between affordability and quality of work!

Here's a run-down of the suppliers we've booked so far:
Church - Chapel on the Hill, Don Bosco, Batangas
Reception - Hotel Kimberly, Tagaytay City
Wedding bands - Titanium rings from Tiffany & Co.
Photography - R.A.W. (Really Awesome Weddings)
Videography - Digital Shots Video Production
OTD Coordinator - Kiss The Girl Events
Host - Arbee Panga of KTG
Gown, Suit, Entourage designer - Rei Rana (i love him!)
Glee's shoes - Charles & Keith
Hair and Make-Up - Realm HMU (Ludy)
Bridal Car - Don Robert's
Lights & Sounds - Soundmaster
Band - by Soundmaster (so excited about this but it's a top secret)
Wedding cake - c/o Hotel Kimberly
Mobile Bar - Shakers Big Punch 808
Henna Tattoo - Groove Paint Party Needs
Souvenirs - Glee's find! wayfarers-esque shades for that Holly Golightly/Rock n Roll feel

What we're still eyeing for:
Entourage flowers - Amaranthus
Event Styling - Amaranthus
Preps venue - Chateau Royale
Church Choir - CotH schollars
Ren's shoes - Chuck Taylor

There are still a few details that we have to settle but over-all, I think we're on track before our wedding day. Ren and I couldn't be more excited and happy especially now that we're about to complete the puzzle. It sure feels like God has been throwing us all these puzzle pieces and it's up to us to pick it up and figure out where it belongs and man, that's almost easy! :) So yeah, 95 days to go and I'm still a glee-ful bride-chilla!
